With the World Championships just completed, here's a look back at the final stages of Sonia O'Sullivan winning the 1995 world title at 5000 meters in Gothenburg, Sweden. The former Villanova great became the first ever Irish woman to win a track world championship, running 14:46.47. In so doing, she defeated Gabby Szabo, Paula Radcliffe, and then-reigning 5000 meter world record holder Fernanda Ribiero (who had already won the 10,000 meter title at the meet). O'Sullivan would capture two other world titles in 1998, taking both the 4 and 8 kilometer cross country races in Marrakesh, Morroco.
