Villanova's Sub-4:00 Milers

Starting with Ron Delany in 1956 through Michael Kerrigan in 2007, Villanova has produced 28 different sub-4:00 milers. Five of these number (Ron Delany, Dick Buerkle, Eamonn Coghlan, Sydney Maree, and Marcus O'Sullivan) set world records at the mile or its metric equivalent). If the sub-3:42.22 1500 meter men are counted as having achieved the metric "sub-4:00," then Villanova's list swells to 34 individuals, including 2009's Matt Gibney.
