Hugo Beamish & Carmen Hussar Win Parkway Run 5K Titles

One recent and one not-so-recent Villanova alum won the Four Seasons Parkway Run last weekend. One the men's side, recent graduate (and 2012 Big East 5000i meter champion) Hugo Beamish defeated all comers in winning the event in a crisp 14:41. He came home 6 seconds ahead of the runner up, former University of Florida runner Cam Marantz. This on the heels of his impressive all-comers course record at Haverford's 4-mile course at the Main Line Invitational cross country race a week earlier. Beamish has indicated that he'll stay in Philadelphia and train with the extended Villanova crew and will contest a series of 5K and 10K races.

On the women's side, Carmen Douma-Hussar took the title, finishing 12th overall in 16:42. She was not pressed, besting the second-place woman -- former Haverford College 1500 meter All-American Meredith Unger -- by almost 2 minutes.
