Andrew Blaich '05 Earns PhD in Computer Engineering from Notre Dame
Former Villanova track and field athlete Andrew Blaich (BS 2005 and MS 2006 in Computer Engineering) just defended his doctoral dissertation in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Notre Dame. He will be awarded his PhD at Notre Dame's next commencement ceremony.
Blaich competed in cross country and track for Villanova and served as Marcus O'Sullivan's graduate assistant in 2005-2006 (during which time he launched the Runnova.com website). After leaving the Villanova program, and in addition to the rigors of graduate school at Notre Dame, Blaich managed to stay fit enough to run 2:35:32 at the 2008 ING New York City marathon, and to boast a 1:11 time over the half-marathon distance at the Philadelphia Distance Classic in 2008.
Blaich already has a growing list of scholarly publications, which can be examined at his web page at Notre Dame. To get there, click the title of this post.
