Sheila Reid Three-Peats as Mid-Atlantic XC Athlete of the Year
The US Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced today that Villanova's Sheila Reid is the 2011 division 1 Mid-Atlantic Region's cross country female athlete of the year. It's the third such award in succession for Reid, and it's now four years in a row that a Villanovan has won the award. Reid will attempt to defend her 2010 NCAA cross country individual title at the national meet on Monday in Terre Haute. Click HERE for the list of other regional winners.
MID-ATLANTIC REGION – Sheila Reid, Villanova
Reid, a senior from Newmarket, Ontario, won the Mid-Atlantic title for the third-straight time this season with a 21:32.7 run to outdistance Georgetown’s Emily Infield by just over a second. Reid won the Big East crown for the third-straight time in leading the Wildcats a fourth-straight league championship.
