Sheila Reid came back off her 4:30.41 one mile win at Penn State a week ago with a very solid two-mile race at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix in Boston on Saturday. The field was up against Tirunesh Dibaba, the 9-time world champion and 3-time Olympic Gold Medalist who owns the 5000 meter world record of 14:11.15. In a race where everyone else was running for second place, Reid did just that by eclipsing a strong field to take the runner-up's spot ahead of a quality group of runners. Reid's 9:37.97 was well back of Dibaba, but they were the only runners to beat high school phenom Mary Cain, who set US high school records in the 3000 (en route) and two mile in this race. Reid's fellow Canadian Olympian Nicole Sifuentes was 4th.
