Beamish in 2009
At the Melbourne World Challenge today in Australia, former Villanova standout Hugo Beamish came fourth in the 5000 meters in a new PR of 13:47.34. Beamish has set new PRs this year over 1500 meters, one mile, 3000 meters, and now 5000 meters. Two weekends ago he won the 2013 New Zealand outdoor national championship at this distance.  A two-time Big East 5000 meter champion while at Villanova, Beamish is being trained in his native New Zealand by former Villanova NCAA champion Adrian Blincoe.
